Privacy
Policy

This policy explains what information PicHunt (pichunt.in) collects, how it is used, stored and protected, and how PicHunt uses the Pinterest API and other social-platform APIs to publish its own puzzle content.

Effective and last updated: 25 October 2026

No visitor accountsWe never ask website visitors for names, emails or passwords.
Our own accounts onlyThe API connects only PicHunt's own Pinterest account and boards.
Never soldWe do not sell, rent or share Pinterest data for advertising.

1. Who we are and what this covers

PicHunt publishes original visual puzzles, riddles and "spot the difference" style challenges. This policy applies to:

  • The public website at pichunt.in, a landing page that links to PicHunt's social channels.
  • Publishing our own content: the PicHunt team publishes our own puzzle images and videos to PicHunt's own accounts on Pinterest and other platforms, and reviews how those posts perform.

We only connect PicHunt's own social-media accounts. Members of the public are never asked to sign in or connect their own accounts.

2. Website visitors

  • Page-view counts: when the home page loads, we add one to a total for that day. The counter does not store your IP address, device ID, name or any other identifier.
  • Security: our server briefly uses your IP address in memory to limit abusive traffic. This is not written to our records.
  • Hosting logs: our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) for security and reliability, under its own policies.
  • No forms or accounts: the website has no sign-up, login, comment or contact forms.

3. Cookies and analytics

pichunt.in does not set its own advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use the Pinterest Tag or other advertising pixels.

If we turn on Google Analytics, it may use cookies to record device, browser and approximate location information, as described in Google's Privacy Policy. We ask Google to anonymise IP addresses. You can block these cookies in your browser settings.

Pinterest API

4. How PicHunt uses Pinterest data

PicHunt connects to the Pinterest API to publish PicHunt's own puzzle content to PicHunt's own Pinterest account. Access is granted through Pinterest's official OAuth authorisation, as an access token for our own account. We never ask for, collect or store anyone's Pinterest username or password.

Data we access

  • The access token Pinterest issues for PicHunt's own account.
  • The ID of the PicHunt board that Pins are published to.
  • The IDs and links of Pins that PicHunt creates.
  • Performance totals for those Pins only: impressions, saves, Pin clicks and outbound clicks.
  • Media-upload status while Pinterest processes a video we upload.

How we use it

  • To create image and video Pins on PicHunt's own board, with a title, description, alt text and a link back to pichunt.in.
  • To confirm that a Pin was published and to link to it from our publishing report.
  • To show the PicHunt team privately how our own Pins are performing so we can improve future puzzles.

What we never do

  • Access other people's Pinterest accounts, boards, Pins, followers or messages.
  • Collect personal information about Pinterest users.
  • Sell, rent, license or share Pinterest data, or use it to target advertising.
  • Combine Pinterest data with other data to build profiles of people.
  • Use Pinterest data to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.

Storage and protection of Pinterest data

  • The Pinterest access token is stored only as a private environment setting on our server, outside the public website folder. It is never placed in website files, browser storage or source code, and it is sent to Pinterest only over encrypted HTTPS.
  • Pin IDs and performance totals are stored in private data files on the same server, which only the PicHunt team can access.
  • Video files uploaded to Pinterest are deleted from our server after publishing, within 24 hours. Original graphics are deleted as soon as they are published.
  • We disconnect Pinterest and delete the access token when we stop using the integration. If Pinterest revokes or expires the token, we stop all Pinterest requests.
  • We follow Pinterest's Developer Guidelines and Privacy Policy. If Pinterest asks us to delete data obtained through its API, we delete it promptly.

5. Other social platforms

PicHunt also publishes our own content to PicHunt's own accounts on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Telegram, Discord, Bluesky, Mastodon and Dailymotion. For each one we keep only the access credentials for our own account, the IDs of the posts we create and performance totals for those posts. The same storage, security and no-selling rules described above apply.

PicHunt uses YouTube API Services. YouTube data is also covered by the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

7. Who we share information with

  • Social platforms: the content we choose to publish is sent to that platform's API so it can be posted to our account.
  • Service providers: our web host stores the website and our data on our behalf.
  • Legal reasons: we may disclose information where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information or Pinterest data.

8. Security

  • All connections to our website and to platform APIs use HTTPS.
  • Our publishing systems are password-protected and rate-limited.
  • Secrets, tokens and private data are kept outside the public website folder.
  • Access is limited to the PicHunt team.

No method of storage or transfer is completely secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.

9. Retention and deletion

  • Daily page-view totals and post performance totals: kept for our reporting until we delete them.
  • Uploaded videos: deleted within 24 hours of publishing.
  • Original graphics: deleted as soon as they are published.
  • Platform access tokens: deleted when we disconnect a platform or stop using it.

10. Children

pichunt.in is a general-audience puzzle site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Your choices and rights

  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
  • You can visit pichunt.in without using any social-media link.
  • You can ask us what information we hold that relates to you, and ask us to correct or delete it, using the contact route below.

12. Contact and changes

For privacy questions or deletion requests, send a direct message to PicHunt's official Pinterest profile or any official PicHunt channel linked on our home page. We aim to reply within 30 days.

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
